Steel
Steel is a cast element where minor differences in thickness, height and width may occur. For all steel parts, Bent Hansen accepts tolerances of 3 millimetres. In addition, some moving steel parts may emit sound during use. Steel is a durable material, but if the product is subjected to shocks or impact, permanent scratches or dents may occur.

Textured and powder-coated steel
Powder coating gives the steel a nice and even surface with a smooth finish. Unlike powder coatings, which are smooth in appearance, textured coatings give a fine-grained finish to the surface. Traces of wear and tear, such as scratches, are therefore also less visible on this surface due to the structure of the paint.
Day-to-day cleaning: Surfaces with textured or powder coatings should be wiped with a cloth dampened in warm water and wrung out, possibly with the addition of a mild cleaning agent. Wipe with a dry cloth to avoid limescale stains.
Special reservations: Be particularly careful not to use solvents, sharp objects or abrasive cleaners on these surfaces, as this can damage the paint.
Brushed stainless steel
Brushed stainless steel is a durable material with a matt finish.
Day-to-day cleaning: Clean with a cloth dampened in warm water and wrung out, possibly with the addition of a mild cleaning agent added. Then wipe with a dry cloth to avoid limescale stains.
If the steel is in contact with your floor (e.g. table or chair legs), always make sure to wipe the steel with a dry cloth after washing the floor to avoid limescale stains or stains from other cleaning products.
Deep cleaning: For a more thorough cleaning, you can clean brushed stainless steel with regular household cleaning spirit. Wash with a wrung-out cloth and wipe dry.
Rust stains: Even with stainless steel, minor rust stains can occur. This is caused by rust film from other objects. Small rust stains can usually be removed with a steel cleaner – always follow the instructions on the product. Alternatively, you can sand the surface with a fine abrasive sponge designed for steel. Always remember to work in the direction the steel has been brushed.
