Marble
Marble is a natural stone composed mainly of lime formed under the earth’s surface over millions of years. Marble is also therefore a product with a distinctive character caused by the influences of nature, which gives each stone its own “personality” and charm. This is seen in colour variations or patterns, which can appear, for example, as differently formed stones that have been pushed together or as small and large veins running in different directions that can resemble cracks. This also means that each and every marble slab is unique.
It is essenstial to note that due to the inherent characteristics of marble, uneven surfaces and small indentations may be found on the tabletop. However, we assure you that these variations are not defect but a sign that we are committed to using as much of the natural material as possible to minimize waste.
Before you start using your marble furniture, it is important to treat it so that the marble is saturated and grease and dirt cannot penetrate the material.
To saturate marble, we recommend that you impregnate the marble surface with Akemi Anti Stain. The product seals pores and cracks in the stone and makes the material more resistant to stains from e.g. oil and water. Repeat the treatment according to the instructions on the bottle 3-4 times during the first 14 days. When using other impregnation products, we recommend always following the instructions on the product.
For day-to-day cleaning of your marble surfaces, you can use a cloth dampened in warm water and wrung out.
For day-to-day care of marble surfaces, you can use Akemi Triple Effect, which both cleans and cares for the marble. Spray the product in an even layer on the surface and spread with a lint-free cloth until the surface is smooth and polished.
For a more thorough cleaning of marble, such as removing films from care products, oil and grease, we recommend using a stone cleaner. Always follow the instructions on the product. After cleaning, you should reseal the pores of the marble. Follow the “before use” instructions.
