Cymbal

The side table Cymbal is named after the family of percussion instruments (cymbals) known by its thin, round metal plates. The thin legs make the table appear light and elegant, and the characteristic floating table top is a strong symbol of designer Louise Siig Nielsen’s playful approach to furniture design.
The long neck is designed to lift the table up and bring it with you to the couch, the lounge chair or in the bedroom where it works perfectly as a nightstand. Legs and table top is made of black texture-coated aluminium.

extraordinary and playful

Designer Louise Siig Nielsen has composed a side table out of the ordinary. The table is called Cymbal and is named after the family of percussion instruments (cym-bals) known by its thin, round metal plates. Cymbal might seem small, but like its namesakes it easily attracts all the attention. The thin legs make the table appear light and elegant, and the characteristic floating table top is a strong symbol of Siig Nielsen’s playful approach to furniture design striking just the right note.

an interesting item that attracts your attention and invites you to interact with the design

Designer Louise Siig Nielsen tells about the design:

”The idea behind the table was to have a floating table top in the middle of the room; an interesting item that attracts your attention and invites you to interact with the design.

In addition, the table should be easy to move around. The long neck is designed to lift the table up and bring it with you to the couch, the lounge chair or in the bedroom where it works perfectly as a nightstand.”
